10th Annual Flagship Festival
MARCH 7TH + 8TH
[DENVER, CO]
[DENVER, CO]
As we commemorate our 10th anniversary this International Women’s Day, we wish to thank our audiences everywhere for your unwavering support. Looking back at the last decade, we have a lot to celebrate. It was ten years ago that only a handful of quality adventure films featuring women existed, and No Man’s Land began in response to the substantial lack of representation in film festivals and the larger outdoor media.
In our inaugural year, we sold out every screening from the historic Crystal Palace in Aspen, CO to the the Flash Foxy Women’s Climbing Festival in Bishop, CA. Between 2015 and 2025, we took NMLFF upwards of 41 states and across the globe. For ten years, we’ve focused on engaging audiences in urban areas and developed educational programming to bring films and curriculum to schools nationwide at no cost. We’ve created Black, Indigenous, Genderqueer, and Female Filmmaker Grants dedicated to emerging filmmakers to further entry into media and film. In 2020, we expanded our platform to include and advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. When COVID-19 devastated event-based organizations, NMLFF stood firmly by the belief that young minds benefit from events like these and offered films at a discounted rate for universities. In our final year, we tripled our efforts to represent more women of color, women with disabilities, and the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and LGBTQ+ communities.
As we double down on the fight for racial and gender justice, we hope that in ten more years, No Man’s Land won’t need to exist and that a festival such as ours will be an apologetic glance back at a stagnant and troubled past. Until then, we’re committed to breaking patterns and cycles of harm individually, collectively, and globally. But we cannot do this work alone. No Man’s Land is a woman-led, service-minded, community-oriented arts and advocacy non-profit organization. We are a multiracial staff of two women who’ve given it everything we’ve got — and we’re asking for your support in 2025.
We are at the forefront of a movement. According to the UN Women’s most recent report, at the current rate of progress, it will take just under 300 years for the world to achieve gender equality. The World Economic Forum projects another 100 years to close the global gender gap. Some people believe that feminism is no longer needed, but these statistics say otherwise. From the proven gender pay gap to women’s sexual and reproductive rights constantly at risk by lawmakers, as well as the record number of bills attacking LGBTQ+ rights (especially trans youth), feminism needs your support — now, more than ever.
Through art, advocacy, and activism, No Man’s Land has leveraged this platform to challenge mainstream representation and destabilize the gender binary to work towards creating a future where women, trans, and genderqueer folk can thrive. Films are not only a vehicle of expression and activism, but they reaffirm our right to tell our own stories. Women, genderqueer, Black, Indigenous, and multiracial communities deserve this space. Our goal is to champion the voices of the global majority through these exclusive premieres, important conversations, and live performances.
We humbly invite you to amplify these stories and take action in solidarity together. Join us for our 10th Annual Flagship Festival in Denver, CO on March 7th + 8th, 2025, and take part in our biggest fundraiser of the year as we celebrate a decade in film.
With gratitude,
Kathy Karlo, Executive Director
Our Flagship Festival is bigger and bolder than our abbreviated screenings on the road. Since its inception in 2015, NMLFF has advocated for intersectionality in the outdoor adventure arena and increased visibility from athletes to audiences across the globe. While we hold firm to some mainstream elements, the stories we share embody a radical vision of hope and change — requiring an innovative format. Through the films presented, panel discussions, artist exhibits and performances, our 2025 lineup encourages a re-examination of how we manifest our personal culture within various communities.
