For the second year in a row, GTFO Adventure Club is bringing No Man's Land Film Festival back to Fredericton! GTFO aims to bring together like-minded womxn and supporters of women in the outdoors to inspire confidence, gain capacity and create community through adventure. No Man's Land Film Festival kicks off a stacked winter season by featuring outdoor films produced by and/or featuring women that are guaranteed to get you itching for the outdoors. Showtime is at 7:30 p.m. and doors open at 7:00. General admission is $15. Proceeds from the event's ticket sales will go directly into 2019 GTFO programming...meaning, passed on to YOU!
The Institute of Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies of McGill University and Shakti Rock Gym are excited to co-host No Man's Land Film Festival on November 29th at 6:15 p.m.! Screening to be followed by a panel discussion on gender and sports. All proceeds will benefit the development of a program for self-identified girls and women in the outdoors, organized by Shakti Rock Gym. Prescott College is proud to present No Man’s Land Film Festival for the first time ever! This film festival aims to un-define femininity in adventure sport and film as well as champion women with the support and respect that they deserve in the outdoor community and beyond. This event begins with a short documentary exploring identity, belonging, and resilience within the outdoor industry. This documentary is a culmination of Neha Khurana's undergraduate work at Prescott College. Roam Bike Fest is the only women's mountain bike festival in the world. The three-day festival includes workshops, presentations, and technical clinics in addition to bike demos, shuttles, group rides, shopping, and a Saturday night dinner and dance party. We couldn't be more thrilled about making our debut in Albuquerque! We are atingle with anticipation as we partner with Stone Age Climbing Gym to host a screening at the KiMo Theatre. This event will be a part of Stone Age Climbing Gym's annual climbing Festival, Prime8, coming to you October 20th through 26th. No Man's Land will screen on October 26th. Stone Age Climbing Gym is thrilled to see the number of women involved in this sport become more and more significant with the passing of years.
Staying in line with their established tradition, Stone Age will donate all profits from this event. They feel that a stable and safe environment is critical to allow the spirit of adventure to blossom within an individual and for this reason, we plan on making the donation from this event to The Barrett Foundation, a women/children-centered organization. COLS is College Outside’s Fall event full of getting outside, improving your leadership skills, meeting other stoked students, and bringing home tons of free swag. We had such a blast being hosted by The University of Vermont Outing Club, we're coming back to Burlington for more! Last year's event set a rad strong lady tone for the rest of the semester, and we're ready to do it again!
