We are proud to return to the Gunks for our second year! No Man's Land Film Festival is joining the Gunks Climber's Coalition for a two-day event celebrating and bringing together the Gunks Climbing Community as one. We're going back to college! The Indiana Memorial Union Board's Science & Environment committee is hosting an outdoor screening of No Man's Land as a part of its mission to provide students with new ways to engage with their environment. Union Board aims to represent the student body at IU in a variety of ways and is excited to bring No Man's Land Film Festival back to Bloomington in order to represent all types of women in sport and adventure. We had such a blast being hosted by The University of Vermont Outing Club, we're coming back to Burlington for more! Last year's event set a rad strong lady tone for the rest of the semester, and we're ready to do it again! This event will take place at The Grand Maple Ballroom (at the Davis Center) and the Fireplace Lounge area directly outside of it (for tabling and ticket matters) from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on October 12th. A portion of the proceeds from this tickets to this event and its silent auction will benefit Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, who works closely with UVM’s all-female ski group, Chicks on Sticks. We couldn't be more thrilled about making our debut in Albuquerque! We are atingle with anticipation as we partner with Stone Age Climbing Gym to host a screening at the KiMo Theatre. This event will be a part of Stone Age Climbing Gym's annual climbing Festival, Prime8, coming to you October 20th through 26th. No Man's Land will screen on October 26th. Stone Age Climbing Gym is thrilled to see the number of women involved in this sport become more and more significant with the passing of years.
Staying in line with their established tradition, Stone Age will donate all profits from this event. They feel that a stable and safe environment is critical to allow the spirit of adventure to blossom within an individual and for this reason, we plan on making the donation from this event to The Barrett Foundation, a women/children-centered organization. Roam Bike Fest is the only women's mountain bike festival in the world. The three-day festival includes workshops, presentations, and technical clinics in addition to bike demos, shuttles, group rides, shopping, and a Saturday night dinner and dance party. The rest of the weekend will be filled with all women clinics and workshops, professional athlete clinics/meet-ups, a women’s climbing competition, food, beer, and lots of partying to celebrate all the amazing women in adventure sports. All proceeds from the film screening, all raffles sales, and all beer donations, plus a portion of the ticket sales from the event will be donated to Girls on the Run of Greater Knoxville. The questionnaire also found that six out of every ten women believed men’s interest in outdoor activities are taken more seriously than women’s. Join us for a screening of a variety of adventurous films showcasing women who are making strides in the outdoor arena.
