Denver flagship faq

what is Flagship festival?

The purpose of this event is to celebrate women and the gender-expansive community in adventure film. Our highest priority for the NMLFF Flagship Festival is to cultivate an inclusive and safe space where members of this community can feel safe, welcome, and respected. With that in mind, we want to be clear that harassment of any kind (including behaviors such as verbal or physical abuse, racism, homophobia, transphobia, body-shaming, etc.) during any point of the event will not be tolerated and anyone exhibiting these behaviors will be promptly asked to leave without a refund for any ticket purchases made.

CAN MEN and those who don’t identify as female attend?

This event welcomes people of all gender identities! We especially encourage men and other gender-fluid individuals to participate in our festival weekend. Any person who aligns with our mission of gender equality is welcome to attend our event. We would love to see you there!

Where in Denver is Flagship being held?

Our 9th Annual Flagship Festival will take place on March 8th + 9th at the MCA Denver Holiday Theater located at 2644 W 32nd Ave, Denver, CO 80211. The Holiday Theater is a Denver metro hub for the arts focused on working with cultural and community-based organizations, and we are proud to partner with them for a second year in 2024.

Where Can I park?

For your convenience, we are offering FREE parking to all registered attendees at the Denver North High School (2960 Speer Blvd, Denver, CO 80211). You are welcome to utilize street parking in the meantime. Residential street parking can additionally be found near the theater but will be limited.

is the MCA Denver Holiday Theater ADA accessible?

Yes! The Holiday Theater is ADA accessible. There are two accessible restrooms located inside the theater and a row of seats in the middle of the theater is wheelchair accessible. All tickets are general admission so we highly recommend you either email programs@mcadenver.org to request specific accommodations or arrive early to find a seat that will work best for you.

WILL THERE BE CLOSED CAPTIONING and INTERPRETERS?

We proudly continue to offer closed-captioning in English for all of our film programming. American Sign Language Interpreters will be available for panel discussions as well as other spoken portions of this event.

can I bring my dog?

We can’t answer this question without first saying we LOVE dogs. That said, because of the nature of this event, dogs are sadly not allowed unless they are service animals. Please respect those who do need to bring their service animals with them by leaving your (adorable but non-service) fur friends at home.

DO I NEED TO wear a mask?

Face coverings are still highly recommended for those who are immunocompromised and those who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated or boosted. Face coverings provide an added layer of protection for those who are fully vaccinated and boosted. Our team is taking all necessary precautions in order to mitigate any risk.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

We cannot guarantee that tickets will still be available at the door. We will be selling tickets at the door only if there is additional capacity before we begin the program (cash or Venmo is accepted). We strongly recommend purchasing your ticket in advance to reserve your seat, as this event is likely to sell out.

Are you offering alcoholic beverages?

Yes! Thanks to our friends at Fat Tire and Martha Stoumen Wines, the answer is yes! We will also have non-alcoholic beverages available. Cheers.

What is included in my ticket purchase?

Entrance to all scheduled events is included with your purchase corresponding with either a Friday or Saturday ticket. Friday’s ticket purchase includes our evening Athlete Panel Discussion. Saturday’s ticket purchase allows access to our remaining 3 panel discussions, as well as the evening’s program. If you would like to attend our Saturday afternoon panel discussions but do not have a Saturday pass, you may join from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM for a suggested donation of $10.

Both Friday + Saturday ticket purchases include access to our vendor + “Get Happy Hour”, our lovely guest speakers, and “Build Your Own Swag Bag” after check-in (sponsor swag bags are first-come, first-serve so, be sure to come early for the goods, giveaways, and much more). Our drag show performance is only on Saturday evening.

View our full schedule of events, guest speaker page, and Denver film program lineup for more detailed information.

What if I purchased a festival pass and no longer can attend?

Life happens and we are here to roll with the punches. We will be able to offer a full refund up until Wednesday, March 4th. Please contact hello@nomanslandfilmfestival.org for a refund request if you are no longer able to attend our event. You may be eligible for a full refund or able to transfer your ticket.

What is your Covid-19 protocal?

We do not require proof of vaccination at our 2024 event, but we are requesting that if you feel sick, please stay at home and contact us for refund or ticket transfer options. The health and safety of our community are of utmost priority to us, and many of our guests, including speakers and filmmakers, have made their decision to attend based on these safety measures. If you have a positive Covid-19 test or have been in contact with someone with a confirmed or suspected case of Covid-19 within two weeks of the festival, we kindly ask that you do not attend.

If you are immunocompromised, unvaccinated, or not fully vaccinated or boosted—we do recommend bringing one to wear due to the fact that this is an indoor event. Our team is taking all necessary precautions in order to mitigate any risk, and our community’s well-being and safety remain our highest priority.

If we are forced to cancel our event due to public health orders, rising Covid-19 cases, or other national emergencies related to Covid-19, ticket holders will have the option to hold onto their pass for a rescheduled 2024 event TBA, exchange their day pass for an Individual Virtual Program Pass of their choice at no additional cost, or receive a 100% refund by email request. We ask ticket holders who have the financial ability to consider that the majority of our festival expenses are fixed rates and therefore, non-refundable. We greatly appreciate all of your understanding and support as we continue to navigate these ever-evolving times.

Any additional announcements regarding Covid-19 will be made on our Denver Flagship homepage, as well as on our social media channels. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at: hello@nomanslandfilmfestival.org.

virtual Flagship FAQ

what is virtual flagship?

After our first-ever Dever Flagship in 2020, we pivoted our platform in less than one month to bring our community a little slice of joy at the start of the pandemic. In 2021, we canceled our 6th Annual Film Festival and brought Flagship Festival to YOU.

Virtual Flagship Festival is just like joining us for a NMLFF event, except—you get to do it from home. While we know that this could never replace the true theatrical, in-person experience of a NMLFF event, we thought that this was the perfect way to gather the hearts and minds of our community together in solidarity. We are excited to continue offering access to our films and speakers to our community across the globe.
