Denver flagship faq

what is Flagship festival?

The purpose of this event is to celebrate women and genderqueer community in adventure film. Our highest priority of the NMLFF Flagship Festival is to cultivate an inclusive and safe space where members of this community can feel welcome and respected. With that in mind, we want to be clear that harassment of any kind (including behaviors such as verbal or physical abuse, racism, homophobia, transphobia, body-shaming, etc.) during any point of the event will not be tolerated and anyone exhibiting these behaviors will be promptly asked to leave without a refund for any ticket purchases made.

CAN MEN and those who don’t identify as female attend?

This event welcomes people of all gender identities! We especially encourage men and other gender-fluid individuals to participate in our festival weekend. Any person who aligns with our mission and enjoys Taylor Swift puns is welcome to attend our event and we would love to see you there!

Where in Denver is Flagship being held?

Our 7th Annual Flagship Festival will take place on March 4th + 5th at the Denver Art Museum located at 100 W. 14th Avenue Parkway in the Golden Triangle neighborhood. The Hamilton Building is located on 13th Avenue between Broadway + Bannock Streets, and The Sharp Auditorium, Lobby, and Congdon Boardroom are all located on the lower level of the Frederic C. Hamilton Building. There are elevators located throughout the museum.

Notes on getting there with public transportation: You can reach the museum from anywhere in the metro area via the Regional Transportation District (RTD and Light Rail). For more information, visit rtd-denver.com. You may also park anywhere downtown and take the RTD’s Free MallRide to the museum. Get off at Cleveland Place, then walk south through Civic Center Park. For more information, visit downtowndenver.com.

If you’re arriving by car from the North: Drive south on I-25 to the Speer Boulevard exit. Turn left onto Speer and continue past Colfax Avenue, then turn left onto 14th Avenue. The museum is six blocks ahead. To park in the garage, continue for one block and turn right onto Broadway, then right onto 12th Avenue.

From the East: Head south on I-25 to the Speer Boulevard South exit (212). Continue on Speer Boulevard past Colfax Avenue, then turn left onto 14th Avenue. The museum is six blocks ahead. To park in the garage, continue for one block and turn right onto Broadway, then right onto 12th Avenue.

From the South: Drive north on I-25 to the Lincoln-Broadway exit (207). Go north on Lincoln and turn left at 12th Avenue. The Cultural Complex Garage is two blocks ahead, just past Broadway.

From the West: Driving east on I-70, take the US-6 East/West 6th Avenue exit (261). After several miles, US-6 freeway becomes a one-way street. Turn left onto Lincoln Street. You are now approaching from the south. Proceed to 12th Avenue and turn left to reach the parking garage, which is just past Broadway.

Where can I park?

There is often construction happening nearby, so please allow extra time for traffic and parking. Street and metered parking spaces and additional parking lots are within heel-walking distance. In addition to street parking options you may find, parking is available at several lots near the museum, including The Denver Justice Center Parking Garage. The garage entrance is located on N. Delaware Street between West 14th Avenue and West 13th Avenue. Find a map with more parking options on Parkopedia.

is the Denver art museum ADA accessible?

The Denver Art Museum seeks to establish a safe and welcoming environment that ensures the widest range of people will enjoy during their visit and is fully ADA accessible. Please contact access@denverartmuseum.org with additional questions about the accessibility of our event. If you need additional accommodations, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing us at: hello@nomanslandfilmfestival.org.

WILL THERE BE CLOSED CAPTIONING OR INTERPRETERS?

All of our weekend film programming will offer closed-captioning in English. American Sign Language Interpreters will be available for all panel discussions and other spoken portions of this event.

can I bring my dog?

We can’t answer this question without first saying that our team LOVES dogs. That said, because of the nature of this event, dogs are sadly not allowed unless they are service animals. Please respect those who do need to bring their service animals with them by leaving your (adorable but non-service) fur friends at home.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING OTHER THAN MY TICKET CONFIRMATION TO OBTAIN ENTRY?

We are kindly requesting proof of vaccination at the door and our team thanks you in advance for your understanding! Facemasks are no longer required but strongly recommended, due to the fact that this is an indoor event and our team is taking all necessary precautions in order to mitigate any risk.

Can I purchase tickets at the door?

We cannot guarantee that tickets will still be available at the door. We will be selling tickets at the door only if there is additional capacity before we begin the program (cash or Venmo accepted). We strongly recommend purchasing your ticket in advance to reserve your seat, as this event is likely to sell out.

Are you offering alcoholic beverages?

This Flagship Festival will not sell or offer drinks. Per the rules of the Denver Art Museum, no outside food or beverages are allowed to be brought inside the event space. We recommend checking out Leven’s Deli, Bakery, & Wine Bar behind the DAM! Leven is a deli with a wine list, sparkling cocktails, and fresh vegetables and salads. Because, why not? Happy Hour, yes please (4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. daily).

What is included in my ticket purchase?

Entrance into all scheduled events is included with your purchase corresponding with either a Friday or Saturday ticket. Your ticket includes access to our vendor hour and panel discussion entry, as well as the evening’s film programming. Please view our full schedule of events, guest speaker page, and Denver film program lineup for more detailed information.

What if I purchased a festival pass and no longer can attend?

Life happens and we are here to roll with the punches. We will be able to offer a full refund up until Tuesday, March 1st. Please contact hello@nomanslandfilmfestival.org for a refund request if you are no longer able to attend our event. If your ability to attend the festival is related to Covid-19, you may be eligible for a full refund or able to transfer your ticket.

What is your Covid-19 protocal?

We are kindly requesting that all attendees show proof of vaccination at check-in and are incredibly grateful for your understanding. The health and safety of our community are of utmost priority to us, and many of our guests, including speakers and filmmakers, have made their decision to attend based on these safety measures. If you have a positive Covid-19 test or have been in contact with someone with a confirmed or suspected case of Covid-19 within two weeks of the festival, we ask that you do not attend.

Per current public health orders for the City and County of Denver, Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) has amended Public Health Order 21-005 to better align with recently updated guidance by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). Regardless of this amendment to end the mask mandate on Friday, Feb. 11 at 11:59 p.m, we are still requiring proof of vaccination at our event. While face masks are no longer a requirement, we strongly recommend wearing one due to the fact that this is an indoor event. Our team is taking all necessary precautions in order to mitigate any risk, and we have reached this decision with our community’s well-being and safety in mind.

If we are forced to cancel our event due to public health orders, rising Covid-19 cases, or other national emergencies related to Covid-19, ticket holders will have the option to hold onto their pass for a rescheduled 2022 event TBA, exchange their day pass for an Individual Virtual Program Pass of their choice at no additional cost, or receive a 100% refund by email request. We ask ticket holders who have the financial ability to consider that the majority of our festival expenses are fixed rates and therefore, non-refundable. We greatly appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to navigate these ever-evolving times.

We will make any additional announcements regarding Covid-19 on our Denver Flagship homepage as well as on our social media channels. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at: hello@nomanslandfilmfestival.org.

Are your virtual flagship films different from Denver flagship?

Because our previously 4-day Denver Flagship has been limited to 2-days, we cannot screen all of our 2022 film selections in this timeframe. Our Virtual Flagship Festival will screen *all* of our 2022 film selections, including some of the films you view at our in-person event.

I plan to attend or have attended Flagship in Denver, and would now like to purchase a Virtual All Access Pass.

We’d love for you to join us virtually for more films! We will email all Friday + Saturday Denver attendees a discount code for 50% off a Virtual All Access Pass. This discount code is only applicable to our All Access Pass.

virtual Flagship FAQ

what is virtual flagship?

After our first-ever Dever Flagship in 2020, we pivoted our platform in less than one month to bring our community a little slice of joy at the start of the pandemic. In 2021, we canceled our 6th Annual film festival and brought Flagship Festival to YOU. (What? We’re hip with the times—we even figured out TikTok, sorta. Ok, ok—our intern figured out TikTok.)

Virtual Flagship Festival is just like joining us for a NMLFF event, except—you get to do it from home! While we know that this could never replace the true theatrical, in-person experience of a NMLFF event, we thought that this was the perfect way to gather the hearts and minds of our community together in solidarity. We are excited to continue offering the magic of our films and guest speakers to our community across the globe.

HOW CAN I REGISTER TO WATCH the FILMS + When can I watch?

You can securely purchase your tickets through FilmFreeway. Once you have registered, you will first receive a confirmation email from FilmFreeway. If you don’t receive an email, fret not. It might be a typo or glitch in the matrix—just email us with your proof of purchase and we’ve got you covered.

On Sunday, March 6th, the registered email address will be sent film program weblinks + passwords for film programming, as well as access to our recorded panel discussions from our 2022 Denver event. The film links will correspond with the ticket you have purchased. You can follow the links anytime during the 7-day window and enjoy incredible adventure films! Eat snacks, have a slumber party, project it on a big screen—it’s your own personal film festival, so you make the rules. You can watch these films from any device you have access to.

Visit our Virtual Flagship Page for more information. Please note that all times are listed in Mountain Standard Time (MST).

I HAVE made my purchase and REGISTERED VIA FILMFREEWAY. I HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED A confirmation EMAIL CONTAINING THE DETAILS. NOW, WHAT?

If you did not receive a confirmation email, we thank you for your patience as No Man’s Land Film Festival is a small team and we are constantly monitoring ticket sales and answering emails as they come through! Your email may have also gone to a spam folder in your inbox. We recommend first checking there to see if you have an email from FilmFreeway. Please check your registration to make sure you entered the correct email—if an email address is submitted with a typo, we have no way of getting in touch with you, but you can email us with your proof of purchase and we’ll take care of you. Again, your patience and support is appreciated!

Festival guidelines

The purpose of this weekend event is to bring together our community to celebrate women and individuals who wish to explore adventure film through a feminine lens. Our highest priority of the NMLFF Flagship Festival is to cultivate an inclusive and safe space where members of this community can feel welcome and respected.

With that in mind, we ask that anybody participating in any of our online spaces before, during, and after our Flagship Festival event understand that harassment of any kind (including behaviors such as verbal or physical abuse, racism, homophobia, transphobia, body-shaming, etc.) during any point of the event will not be tolerated. Please be kind in your comments! Any person exemplifying these kinds of behaviors and or commentary can expect to be banned from shared online spaces immediately and will not be given a refund for their ticket purchase.
