Bishop, we are back! Brought to you by the folks at Mountain Hardwear and in partnership with the AAC Craggin Classic, we are heading your way this November! These are new films that will leave you inspired to grab your favorite adventure partner!
The Bishop Craggin' Classic is a 3-day grassroots climbing festival brings climbers both fresh-faced and crusty to the beautiful town of Bishop, home and origin to modern gymnastic bouldering. This Craggin’ was started over a decade ago by local climbers looking to clean up the Buttermilks and drink some beers with friends—and since then it has grown, calling climbers from all over to romp on these beautiful pebbles together.
Bishop is a tiny town with a huge backyard—and a huge heart. The Craggin’ features films, climbing clinics, slideshows, games, gear, local beer, and good times. A unique feature of this Craggin’ is the annual performance by AkaMya Cultural Group, who perform Native dance and educational presentations to honor the land we are climbing on. In typical Craggin’ style, there’s also clinics, stewardship projects, workshops, walking tours, and yoga, to keep you busy when you’re resting your skin for the send. Plus, the cutest crag dog contest is always a hit. Join us for the Bishop Craggin’!
This is a part of an American Alpine Club event. Doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and showtime begins at 6:30 p.m. Contact event coordinators Jo Olson and Kailey Herrmann at bishopcraggin@americanalpineclub.org with questions about the Bishop Craggin’ Classic. We are excited to be back in CA!
